This policy explains what information Marcus Burton collects through marcusburton.me and by text message, how it is used, and what is never done with it. It is written in plain language on purpose.
This site and the birthday card program are run by Marcus Burton personally, as an individual. It is his own initiative rather than a company marketing program.
No mobile information will be sold, rented, or shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are never shared with any third party. This applies to every category of information described below, without exception.
Who this is
Marcus Burton, an individual. Many of the people in this program know him through his work as a Senior Loan Officer at Innovative Mortgage Alliance, which is mentioned here only so you know who is writing to you. The birthday card program is not a program of Innovative Mortgage Alliance and is not sponsored or administered by them.

What is collected
Through the form on this site, you may provide:
- Your first and last name
- The month and day of your birthday. The year is never requested and never stored. Every birthday is recorded against a single fixed placeholder year so that only the month and day are meaningful.
- Your mailing address
Already on file, because you have an existing relationship with Marcus:
- Your mobile phone number
- Your email address, in some cases
- A private code used only to match your form submission to your existing record
Standard technical information such as your IP address is processed briefly by the hosting provider to deliver the page and guard against abuse. It is not used to build a profile of you.
Why it is collected
For one purpose: so Marcus can mail you a physical birthday card, sometimes with a gift card inside, around your birthday. The mailing address is used to address the envelope. The birthday tells him when to send it. Your name is used to write to you by name.
If you complete the form, you are also entered into a drawing for a $100 Amazon gift card. Your information is used to contact you if you win.
Text messages
Marcus may send you a text message asking for your birthday and mailing address, and at most a small number of follow-up messages if you have not replied. These are sent because you have an existing business or personal relationship with him.
Message frequency is low. This is not a recurring marketing program. Message and data rates may apply.
To stop receiving messages, reply STOP to any message. You will be removed immediately and will not be contacted again through this program. For help, reply HELP or contact Marcus using the details above.
Your phone number and your consent to receive text messages are used only to send you these messages. They are not shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes, and they are never sold.
Who your information is shared with
Your information is not sold, rented, or traded. It is not shared for marketing purposes with anyone, ever.
It is stored using service providers that operate this program on Marcus's behalf, and who may only process it to provide that service:
- HighLevel, the contact system where records are kept and text messages are sent. This is the same contact system Marcus uses in his day to day work.
- Cloudflare, which hosts this website
Information may also be disclosed if required by law, such as in response to a valid subpoena or court order.
How long it is kept
Your information is kept for as long as Marcus maintains the birthday card program and your relationship with him continues, or until you ask for it to be removed.
Your choices
- Stop the texts. Reply STOP to any message.
- See what is held about you. Ask, and Marcus will tell you.
- Correct it. If your address changes, let him know so your card arrives.
- Have it deleted. Ask, and your information will be removed.
Use any of the contact details above. There is no form to fill out and no process to follow.
Children
This program is intended for adults. Information is not knowingly collected from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has submitted information, contact Marcus and it will be deleted.
Security
The site is served over an encrypted connection, and information is stored in access-controlled systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date at the top.
